Conscious Discussions Talk Radio - Oct. Announcement
Conscious Discussions Monthly Announcement
Conscious Discussions Talk Radio has a whole new look to the website! - Check out the newly designed home page for our radio show, and view the blog for the latest news, updates and discussions about the guests. http://www.blogtalkradio.com/consciousdiscussions
Double The Fun! - I am excited to announce that I have been given the opportunity to double the show (twice a week, instead of weekly). I have decided to trial this option for the winter (Nov 2007 - Feb 2008... on Tuesdays & Thursdays) and see how I feel about taking on twice the work load for the long run... along with my other work. I am excited about the success and interest in the show, but wary of taking on more than I can realistically handle. Therefore, I plan on doing a new broadcast twice each week between Nov 2007 and Feb 2008 on a trial basis. If it proves to be too much, then I will still continue the Conscious Discussions program on a weekly basis.
All Archived Shows Are Now Available - Some of you may recall that with the old website design we were only able to publicly show the last 5 broadcasts in the archived section. I am thrilled to announce that all archived shows are now available through the blog on the site. Visitors simply scroll through to find the show they want to hear and click the play button. To find a list of all the archives, look to the lower right of the Conscious Discussions home page.

From Dave & Lillian Brummet
Inspired by what another radio show has done, I have decided to produce a special 1 hour broadcast on Dec 12th... the reason why I chose this date is that it follows closely on the heals of an interview with a representative for a literacy organization. The show will air from 10-11 AM PST
What I am going to do is offer each author 3 minutes of exposure on our radio show to promote their books... for free. Is there a catch? Yes. Authors have to start by stating which archived broadcast of the Conscious Discussions was your favorite, and, what you would like to see in the future.
I will be using a timer... so make sure that this is all included in the three minutes. (see example below)
You might be asking yourself why am I doing this...
First, it provides me with a survey, of sorts, that informs me of what people are enjoying and what they'd like to see more of.
Secondly, it allows me to support fellow authors.
Third, it may help to increase listenership to our radio show.
Forth, it provides a plethera of options for the listeners who enjoy reading.
How it works is this:
Authors will call: #646-478-4758
Authors will be on hold in the switchboard until I bring them into the show in the order in which they called. I will say something along the lines of, "hello caller from area code 250-this is your three minutes!"
Caller Dialogue Example:
Hello Everyone, My name is Lillian Brummet. I would like to start by saying that while I am hard-pressed to focus on one specific show, as they are all in line with my passions, Spencer Brown was my favorite guest. This amazing inventor created a new reusable plastic using recycled materials and developed reusuable products from packaging, boxes and pallets - and in doing so created a business that helps others move in a more ecologically sound manor, while saving money at the same time. I would like to see more topics on living consciously. My 3 published books are:
Trash Talk - An Inspirational Guide to Saving Time and Money through Better Waste and Resource Management - which discusses the 4-R’s of waste management and the proper order for them. This being Refuse, Reduce, Reuse Then Recycle… before we even consider sending the item to the trash bin. Trash Talk focuses on the third R, Reuse – which also saves people a lot of money and provides a way to make a real and measurable contribution towards a healthier planet.
Towards Understanding is a collection of 120 non-fiction poems is written in chronological order. It is a true story of a young pre-teen female growing up on her own, struggling to survive, breaking the chains of inner demons and finally growing towards understanding of her value & purpose in life – but not quite reaching it. Thus the title… Towards Understanding
Purple Snowflake Marketing - How To Make Your Book Stand Out In A Crowd is a reference guide for self-marketing authors who want to stand out in a snowstorm of published books. This is an e-book – enabling authors to take full advantage of the 21 appendices & over 500 direct links with a click of their mouse. It can be ordered through the publisher at www.twilighttimesbooks.com or through online e-book suppliers such as booklocker.com or fictionwise.com. This ebook has already received 7 wonderful reviews from those who work in the genre of educating writers – in fact Purple Snowflake Marketing was released in June 2007 and has already made the recommended reading lists of numerous writing courses.
