Review:

What would you do if the man you loved from afar for many years, abandoned you after one night together? Then when you were blessed with a child from that love, through not fault of your own, you accidentally kill your own child. In Fire Maiden, the sequel to "Stone Maiden", you'll meet the second of the four sisters. Kefira has issues; issues that will eat at her very soul and sanity. The only way she can deal with them is through her fiery temper.

As the newly formed Knight/McAllister household draws even closer together to protect Ariel and her unborn baby, those that would harm her are preparing for the next confrontation. The prophecy that has brought so much pain and happiness is about to test the sisters once more and destiny has selected Kefira as the next sister to be tested

It is not only her fighting skills but her heart that will be tested in the ensuing battle.
Dagan, the only man to ever hold a place in Kefira’s heart returns wounded, and with a new piece of the prophecy. Will Kefira accept Dagan back because, even though there is no one for Kefira but Dagan, can she forgive his betrayal? Can she reveal to him that she killed their child? Now that fate has put in her hands the safety of another unborn child, can she be trusted to protect this child?

Jeslyn Kent, queen of the succubus clan has plans to use Kefira’s heartache against her. As more of the prophecy is revealed, Dagan finds that he is forced deeper into the fight against the Dark One. As he struggles with his own secrets can he face the possibility of not being able to save Kefira’s soul? Has fate reunited him with Kefira just to tear them apart again?

Kefira Knight is a woman and warrior of fiery passions. Her strength of will, courage, and dedication to family will have you envying the sheer presence of her personality. The one person who ignites those passions is Dagan. Dagan is a man with his own passions and his passion is Kefira. Kefira’s struggle to protect herself from her memories, her own passions and Dagan’s challenge to win her back sparks a test of wills that will leave you wondering what the outcome will be. The two of them so perfectly compliment each other that they will have you hoping they find a common ground.

While Fire Maiden is the second in the Ms. Gerow’s series about the Knight sisters, it is an excellent stand-alone story. Readers will find their enjoyment of Kefira’s story enhanced by reading "Stone Maiden" first. This story begins shortly after "Stone Maiden" ends. From page one, the plot never falters and has the same fast paced action and witty dialogue. As the various players in the story take their positions, readers will be entranced from beginning to end. Fire Maiden engages the readers’ imagination until the very last page. For me, the third story can’t come soon enough.
