Book 2 in the Phantom Warriors series
Jordan Summers, better known for her Atlantean Quest series, continues her spin-off series Phantom Warriors with Saber-tooth. Ms. Summers was one of the first authors I read when I started reading ebooks. So of course being a big fan of her writing, when I heard she had started a new series, I jumped at the chance to get a copy.
When Katy Manfred’s boss sends her to the La Brea Tar Pits to track down a saber-tooth tiger, she thinks it’s just another wild goose chase. Ever since she and Roger, her boss, broke up, it seemed to her that every time there was a wild rumor, she was sent to track it down. Of course, that was her job: tracking down the exotic for the firm Bio-Tech. But the jobs that Roger gave her were more in the way of getting her to quit.
Just like this saber-tooth job. Since there were no reports of any big cats missing from any of the local zoos, more than likely it was the pet of some rich person who had no business having. When were the rich going to learn that wild animals were just that: wild and not meant to be living in the middle of downtown L.A.? But she in for a surprise when she finds just what she is looking for—in more ways than one.
Kegar was on a mission to find his mate. His people were slowly dying. With more male children being born than female, many of the males of his planet never found a mate. But the women of Earth gave them a shred of hope. Kegar could not believe his luck. After being on Earth only a few hours he had found his mate. Of course, he still had to convince her of that.
Everything about Katy draws Kegar to her: her strength, her beauty and her quick mind. Can Kegar seduce Katy in the limited time left? And once they have mated, will Katy accept Kegar for whom and what he really is? Time is running out, not only for Kegar, but Katy too. Katy’s boss Roger is putting pressure on her to bring the saber-tooth in; it’s that or lose everything. Can Katy come to a decision between a chance at love and a new home or to stay were she’s at?
Okay, what can I say but that I love Jordan Summers’ work and for me this was one of her best. With Saber-tooth you get a strong-minded heroine, a hot hero and plenty of even hotter sex. Saber-tooth is one of those quick little reads that leaves you wanting more. Don’t miss this one!
