Review:

Ever have a truly sucky day? The one where your tire goes flat on the way to work, your boss screams at you for being late, and things aren’t so hot between you and your guy, but at least you have a guy. That is until you find him jumping your best friend’s bones while muttering about you being a cold fish. If this sounds like your day, then you must be Erin Wilson, the heroine of Cheyenne McCray’s newest sexy bondage novel, Taking on the Law.

Erin didn’t plan on her life going to hell in a hand basket. The blonde beauty searched her memory trying to decide where her life took a wrong turn. Her job left a lot to be desired and her no-good boyfriend—just needed to be left. At one time, her dreams were large; she left her hometown and her handsome beau, Dave Bennett, to find whatever lurked beyond the horizon. Big mistake, unfortunately she just made another, speeding.

Giving out tickets isn’t Dave’s favorite job, especially on the weekends, especially to princesses who feel they have the right to speed all over the city and endanger other people’s lives. He felt a lecture coming on until he saw her; the sultry beauty in the tiny red outfit immediately put her hands on the wheel. Submissive, just the way he likes them. Her voice sounds so familiar, reminding him of summer nights spent discovering the luscious Erin Wilson. It couldn’t be, but if it were, he would make her pay for leaving him.

The moment Erin heard Dave’s deep voice, she knew. What started out as a sucky day suddenly had potential, maybe she could talk her way out of a ticket; that is, until he slaps the handcuffs on her. She doesn’t know if she should be scared, all she knows is that her panties are damp as she steps out of her car and into the police car.

Erin and David do have good chemistry together as they try to recreate the love they both shared using a few interesting BDSM devices, including a cage. Erin is a likable, real woman, who makes mistakes and suffers for them. David is less fleshed out, but is still excellent dominant eye candy.

Taking on the Law starts strong with good interaction between the characters. Even the bondage scenes are moderately well written, with both characters retaining their intelligence and sense of humor, not resorting to shouted commands and other such doggerel. The resolution seems less strong, as if it was just tacked on to lengthen the novel. Overall, Taking on the Law is a cut above the average bondage novel, well worth reading.
