Review:

The talented Megan Hart soars into outer space with her newest novel, Anything You Want. Imagine intrepid women travelers homesteading new lands, a regular forty acres and a mule -- galactic style. Of course, the problem with going it all on your own, well on your own is you’re also all alone. Something to consider even for the most independent female, but maybe there’s way to prepare for the alone part, or in other words, stock up for the lean times ahead.

That’s Milla’s plan as she boards a pleasure ship that will carry her to a far-flung destination.
Milla’s excited about having a place to homestead. She knows it will be lonely—after all, she will be on her own. For that reason, she means to take advantage of all the luxuries the pleasure ship has to offer, from decadent pastries to robots designed to please. Even though her planet doesn’t allow women to use pleasure robots, she orders up her own pleasurebot, not really knowing what to expect.

Jarden, due to an engineering accident, is part mechanical and part human, but unfortunately, all slave. Working as a pseudo pleasurebot is a step up from some of his previous jobs, however. In a short year, his contract will be up and he’ll be free to homestead on his own; this is the only thing that keeps him going. All he needs to do is to keep pretending to be a robot. After all, people on pleasure ships don’t want to be bothered with another human’s feelings. Besides, if people realize he’s not a robot, they just might freak out. The regulations regarding human robot mixes keep changing—currently Jarden and his kind are on the seizure list—just another thing to brighten his day.

The lines around Jarden’s eyes give him away. Pleasurebots don’t get tired. Angry, Milla tries to get Jarden to leave. He doesn’t understand that she doesn’t want a real man. Milla can’t get off with a real man that’s why she ordered a robot. Maybe the problem is her ex-husband, Derek, but flesh and blood men don’t do it for her. Jarden refuses to leave, equally determined to give her everything she wants.

Milla and Jarden have true chemistry as they snarl, tear up the sheets and ultimately sacrifice for each other. The fact that Milla is a strong woman willing to go after what she wants should strike a responsive chord with readers. Milla’s back history is given out sparingly all the way to the end, keeping this reader intrigued. Jarden is a yummy, broad-shouldered hero with a few mechanical extras plus a mysterious past. He makes a person yearn for the nearest pleasure ship. Pete, the bonafide pleasurebot, brings whimsy to the tale lightening what might have been a too intense tale on its own.

Anything You Want is another exciting read from Megan Hart. If you’re looking for a spicy and playful slice of erotica with unexpected twists and humor—this is it. Read it anytime and anywhere because in the end it is everything you want. This reviewer highly recommends it.
