Review:

When this erotic romance novella by Cassidy Kent crossed my desk, it couldn’t have come at a better time. I had some free time in my schedule and was looking for a hot little number to keep me busy. Boy did I find it in What Lies In Winter.

From the very first moment of the story, I knew I had grabbed one of those rare stories that pulls you in hard and fast and doesn't let you go until you're panting for more.

If there is one thing I can't stand in an erotic romance, it's a woman who sits back and lets the man do all the talking. Hayley Barrett is not that kind of woman. Strong and willful, she doesn't take no for an answer, but it doesn't really seem she can say "No" either when a devilishly handsome man crosses her path.

We meet her just as she's preparing for a much needed girlfriends-only vacation, but something has gone wrong and the person who answers the door at her rented cabin is anything but a girlfriend. There is nothing feminine at all about Nicholas Rhiordan.

As soon as I met Nicholas, he reminded me of someone I find extremely attractive – Gordon Ramsey. Yep, Nicholas is from the UK, has a certain abrasive quality to him that at first puts you off, but then you realize he is so full of passion you can barely look at him without wanting to find a horizontal surface to try him out.

Hayley and the new target of her temper, "Nicky," do not get off to a good start. In fact, she can't even make it into the cabin because he's childishly locked her out. But a sprained ankle, a blackout and a good throwing arm bring them together long enough for them to settle their differences, in a most adult manner.

What Lies In Winter is a fast moving and heat-infused erotic romance. You will not put it down until you've read the last word – make sure you have some ice handy to cool things down when you're done. It's a scorcher.

I enjoyed this book so much, I went to see what other delectable treats were available from Cassidy Kent, only to find out that she has ceased writing. What a loss to the erotic romance fan. I will be sure to check out some of her previous releases, such as Dolce & Diana, next time I need a little erotic reading break.
