Review:

I am a huge fan of erotic novellas. I read very quickly, so I can breeze through one of these before bed as a nightcap – you know, to sort of get in the mood?

When Marianne LaCroix's Stolen by the Sheikh turned up in my mailbox, I put it at number one on my To Read list. I love erotic stories set in other cultures and what could be sexier than being carried off by a Sheikh in Casablanca?

Lady Christine Langtry has just arrived in Morocco after learning of her husband's murder. Already distraught at her loss, she is caught completely off guard when a man sweeps her onto his horse in the streets of the city and carries her out into the desert as his captive.

Lady Langtry is shocked at her response to her kidnapper. Hands bound to a tent pole, she should be planning an escape back to England. Instead, she finds herself thinking of what it would be like to be touched and kissed by this handsome Arab man, maybe even more than kissed. He is as much a thief as her husband had been. But unlike her husband, the Sheikh quickens her pulse and makes her body ache for his touch. She knows a good English widow would never feel such things for an Arab kidnapper but, well, who ever said she was a good English widow?

Sheikh Zafar bin Hassan unexpectedly finds himself overtaken by lust. Never had he imagined the English woman would cause his blood to boil and his loins to burn. He looks forward to breaking in his newest pleasure slave.

Stolen by the Sheikh is your average erotic romance. Ms. LaCroix's writing lacks polish, but she does provide a fair amount of sexual heat. You will get the desired erotic effects from reading her story, but the intensity found in really good erotica is missing.

Would I recommend you read Stolen by the Sheikh ? Yes. Will it blow you away as an exceptional read? No. Despite that, it's still a steamy good time.
