Mysteries have always been one of my favorite genres to read. I enjoy the suspense, thrill and the intrigue of a well-written mystery. My one pet peeve is when I solve the murder well before the book ends. I knew from having read Ms. Bennett’s Cold Turkey, I was in for a treat, a mystery that will have me guessing until the end.

Life is quiet for Annike McKinley since last Thanksgiving’s madness. Her new business Events Unlimited is a success. But things are about to change as she is completely unprepared for the mayhem—and murder—that await her. The Easter fundraising fete for the Land's End Yacht Club she has agreed to organize is being held in a clubhouse built in the shape of a pirate ship. And it includes a body hanging from the yardarm.

The murder of Wayne Innes, a local lawyer, provides Merit County's Sheriff Owen Sarkisian with more than a few suspects. Not only must Sarkisian handle the murder investigation, but also solve a series of jewel robberies. The yacht club needs to raise enough money to pay on the loan held by the victim, a loan in which the yacht club uses part of their land as collateral. Land needed by developers of a proposed golf course. Without the land, there will be no golf course. In the meantime, Annike is drawn deeper and deeper into the investigation. Events start to heat up when one of the suspects is found dead, dressed as an Easter bunny during the fundraiser. Will Owen and Annike be able to solve this case without another death?

Bunny Hop is one of those mysteries that keep you turning every page because you have to know what happens next, sometimes with hilarious results. If you are looking for blood and guts this isn’t the book for you, but if you want a good, old fashioned whodunit that will have you wondering who did it, you will want to read Janice Bennett’s Bunny Hop. I can’t wait for Annike and Owen’s next adventure in crime busting.
