Review:

Halloween is not just when the ghosts come out; it is when the ghost stories come out. And what more appropriate story is there for Halloween than when paranormal investigator Dana Rayne goes to check out a haunted castle in Ireland, along with Sean O'Brien, its heir? Unfortunately for the O'Brien family, the castle is occupied by Sean's deceased ancestor Dermott (and Dermott's women), and the ghosts have already chased off Sean's sister.

Neither Sean or Dana have a significant other, both of them seem to be unhappy in their solitary state, and both of them have an unexplored--or is that unexploited?--interest in domination and submission. And maybe a little voyeurism. And some spanking. And restraints. And... But I am getting ahead of myself...

Of course, maybe it throws a kink in the works when Sean spends the entire plane ride to Ireland fantasizing about dominating Dana, the investigator. And maybe it is another kink in the works when they walk through the castle doors, and--after Dana passes out and then comes to--she admits that she's an empath who can feel all those emotions projected at her, not only from ghosts, but also from live people. (Remember that fantasy I mentioned on the airplane?) Perhaps it is yet another kink in the story when the two Americans become possessed by the ghosts, and all their inhibitions go away. And we've not even gotten to the kinky part, which is that Sean's ancestor was a Dom who had an Irish harem closeted in his castle; and Sean, while monogamous, has inherited his ancestor's predilection for control.

An Extreme Haunting is a short little story that can be read in one sitting. BDSM readers who like a touch of the paranormal and ghost lovers who like their sex scenes explicit (and ghosts who act out) will enjoy this spicy little quickie.
