Embarrassment stories. Ya gotta love them. A friend of mine told me about putting on yesterday's pants, and walking around a store wearing them until yesterday's shorts rolled out the pants leg. That might have been quite a memorable introduction to someone. I've seen people wearing shirts inside out. And my own situation: walking down the corridor of a calling center with a long trail of toilet paper dragging behind me. I can only HOPE it was attached to my shoe.
With that much embarrassment in my head, I can really relate to a heroine in a white shirt, going off to her job interview, after she was caught in the rain. I can certainly relate to that embarrassment, not that my situation had consequences as unexpected or erotic as Elsie Meyer's experience. So she goes on this initial interview with John Bennet, a big time power broker CEO type. Let's just say that Elsie's wet white shirt was quite an ice breaker, and cut through a significant episode of that normal "getting to know you" exposition. Of course, she ramps the rate of the encounter up a notch when she reaches for her resume and dumps out the contents of her briefcase, including her flogger. It's the flogger that jogs his memory...It is just her luck that he recognizes her from a prior meeting and I can't say another word without ruining the story. But I will say this much. Our Elsie gets over her embarrassment pretty darn fast.
Cheyenne McCray's Taking the Job would be the perfect summer read if it were summer. Whatever season you happen to read it, it will sure sizzle up your day, especially if you like a little sexual combat and multiple partners with your erotica.
