One of my favorite things to read on a lonely night is a steamy novella, and boy, did I find one in Anna Evans' Captured. I can honestly say this is the best erotica piece I've read in over a year and I've read a lot of them.
We travel back to Boston in the 1890s and meet Lillian Thomas, a most adventurous novice photographer. Lillian has had her share of scandal in the past that would explain why her father was forced to buy her a husband from his own peers.
Having lost her heart long ago to a young friend of her brother's, Lillian has no desire to marry such an old man. She wants someone to stir her passions and satisfy her hunger for all those things she's read in the naughty books her father thinks she wouldn’t dare touch.
Using her camera in a most unladylike way, Lillian sends off a roll of film to the lover of her dreams. Would he develop the film? If he did, would he come after her and fulfill her fantasies? Or would he merely ignore her? Lillian can't wait to find out.
Alexander Darian had developed lots of film, but it was always his film – not that new prepackaged stuff by Kodak. And what of the note clearly written in a feminine hand, "I know it isn't proper, but don't send me away."
Who could have written such a note? It's true that Zander had met his share of scandalous women, the elite bored housewives looking for a bit of fun, but none of them knew how to use a camera. He'd seen it all as a photographer to the highest classes, but this was something new, something exciting.
Did he dare develop the film? Or should he send it off to Kodak for them to develop in case someone was trying to set him up? God hates a coward, so why not just see what it is – and perhaps whom it is from.
Anna Evans has penned a treasure of a story in Captured. Set in the early stages of home photography she has taken what must have been more than one sexy young woman's fantasy and turned it into a reality. The erotic moments paint intense pictures of a man and a woman in the throes of passion so enjoyable that you will find it difficult to sit still while the story unfolds.
The characters themselves are genuine and likeable. Lillian is a delightful minx, so true to her character that you instantly fall in love with her and her bravery. You can easily imagine her pleasure at shocking polite society with nude photos of herself. Ms. Evans also gives us Zander who just happens to be the perfect agent of wickedness to satisfy Lillian's every desire.
Please, please, please… if you love erotic quickies, try Captured by Anna Evans. You will quickly find yourself reaching for your own camera so you can join the fun!
