Review:

There is nothing like a good historical to point out to me that if I'd lived a few hundred years ago, I'd have probably had my throat cut at a young age. Having no lands to my name, nor any attribute to draw the attention of a suitable husband, I'd have been in a world of hurt. Luckily for Lady Prudence, she is not a poor young lady. With her beauty, her fiery temper and her holdings, she has much to offer a man in My Lady's Will by Marjorie Jones. Too bad she doesn't want to be offered!

Lady Prudence is to be given into the care of a guardian until King Henry can arrange for a suitable husband to take her in hand. Having no such desire in her heart to be given to anyone, Lady Prudence plots her escape. She's spent too many years watching her unfaithful father crush her mother's spirit day by day and wants nothing to do with any man. Then she meets her guardian, Will Barnett

Will has no hope of gaining lands, title or a good woman of his own. His parentage, being born on the wrong side of the blanket, has seen to that. His only redemption came from his titled cousin, Devlin, affording him and his widowed younger sister a home at Dunburough Castle, complete with safety and amiable comforts. In exchange, Will is loyal to Devlin, the lord of Ravenstone. Thus is he sent to fetch and lord over the Lady Prudence until a suitable husband can be secured for her, a feat that will not be easy.

From the moment they meet, I knew it would be a wild ride. Lady Prudence is so full of fire the monitor smoked, and Will was determined not to fall in love, I knew he was bound to fail. The clash of wills, the fire sparking between the two main characters, and their feeble attempts to stay apart added to the absolute enjoyment of watching their affairs unfold.

Ms Jones has penned a wonderful story. Her descriptions are vivid and castle life is carefully displayed for the readers' enjoyment. I would recommend My Lady's Will to anyone interested in romance, historical stories, or to anyone looking for an adventure. My Lady's Will does not disappoint in any way. This is the first review that I can recall rating 10 quills. It’s a definite book for the Keeper shelf to be enjoyed more than once.
