My first m/m/f ménage story, DOUBLE DELICIOUS, was published by Amber Quill/Amber Heat/Amber Allure and released this past Febuary as part of the THREE TO TANGO Pax.
Paxes are always released on the weekend, and the individual stories within the Pax are available for separate purchase. Within a few days of THREE TO TANGO being released, I heard from the managing editor at Amber Quill that the demand for DOUBLE DELICIOUS was huge. A few days later, All Romance E-Books informed me DOUBLE DELICIOUS had just made it on to their Best Seller List. Bearing in mind the books carried by ARE are from most, if not all, of the major print publishers of romance as well as most the e-publishers as well, this was quite a coup. The chances of getting on ARE’s best seller list are slim at best, but DOUBLE DELICIOUS made it to their No.1 spot and held it for a total of four weeks. It stayed somewhere on the ARE BSL for a total of six weeks, and even came back for a short spell.
I’m also proud and honored to be able to say DOUBLE DELICIOUS was No.1 on both the Amber Quill best seller lists for February, and is still somewhere on their best seller lists even now.
To write a book and have it turn out to be so successful is, of course, every writer’s dream. Whether it ever happens again, remains to be seen. In the meantime, I’ll just keep on writing.
My next two books, SABOTAGE, a WWII erotic romance with a m/m subplot, and PROUD MARY, a hetero erotic romance featuring an Italo-Canadian heroine trying to keep the family business afloat, have not done anywhere near so well, but at least they’re getting my name out there.
Two weeks ago saw the release of my first contemporary gay romance, STRANGERS IN THE NIGHT--the story of a New York businessman who went to California and was seduced by the lifestyle and a young man he met on the beach one evening--a relationship that almost cost him his life. On August 10, my second m/m contemporary, OH, GEORGE, will be published. This is the story of a gay company owner who hides his sexuality under the image of being a swinging bachelor and also by having a strict rule about never fraternizing with his staff. But then he falls for a male secretary who recently joined his company’s secretarial pool and, suddenly, he’s having XXXX-rated daydreams.
Earlier this year, Amber Quill released AMOROUS INTENTIONS--a print anthology of my next four erotic romances. And before the year is over, I’ll have several more releases: At the end of October--THIS TIME FOR KEEPS--an m/m contemporary paranormal in which the pair split up and go their separate ways, then one of them discovers the other has died. In early November: THE GALLERY ON MAIN STREET--another m/m contemporary where one of the two men inherits a half share of a high end antiques’ shop and finds himself being forced to work with a man he hates, and who he figures hates him right back--until he realizes the mutual dislike isn’t real--it’s just an illusion, orchestrated by his late uncle to keep him and Simon apart, and based on the old man’s own prejudices and old-fashioned ideas.
My last release for this year will be in December. FAST FORWARD is a m/m/f, part of the THREE IS ALWAYS COMPANY Pax and a spin off from last summer’s historical erotic romance, TIME SHIFT. In this story, the maid, Celeste, in an effort to avoid punishment for allowing one of the girls to escape from the brothel where she works, follows the escapee through a secret doorway and is catapulted forward from July 1763 to December 2008--right into the arms of two handsome men who like to swing both ways. A perfect arrangement for all three since Celeste enjoys men, and she’s the most delectable morsel to come their way in quite a while.
I have four more stories scheduled for the first three months of 2009--two are contemporary m/m, one an historical m/m, and the fourth another m/m/f. But I’ll tell you about them tomorrow, which will be my last day blogging Behind The Scenes.
