GPS Needed

[Back][Forward]

But did I take another look? No, I got sidetracked. I remembered I had another blog due at the Samhain Publishing blog, so I wrote that one instead. Then I treated myself to a reading session. I read the second book in the Charlaine Harris’, Sookie Stackhouse Southern Vampire Mystery series, then I started the second book in her Harper Connolly series.

Taking a time to read is a necessity for a writer, but it becomes more and more difficult to find time when I’m so busy writing or avoiding writing, as the case may be.

Next week I’m meeting with some of my writer pals for a brainstorming session. This is a new situation for me because I’m used to brainstorming by myself. But two of the writers are RITA winners, and that’s the Oscar for romance writers. One of the writers is unpublished as yet and I’m published by a smaller press, but have won one award in e-publishing. So we run the gamut and anytime you can spend with fellow writers is time well-spent.

I know that a lot of the career stress I was experiencing last week is fading. I attended a weekly Weight Watchers’ meeting this morning and like I need to get back into my daily writing pattern, I also need to get into a habit of exercising. Writing is such a sedentary life that the weight it’s easy to pack on the pounds. Plus, exercise can clear the creative channels.

So it’s another day to get off the chair and move my feet. I’ll be back tomorrow (one more time) and let you know how I did.
