Having read the first two books in this series, I was pleasantly surprised to see that Ms. Macela has brought us back to the world of the witchy Morgan family. I am always looking for that story that has a different point of view or twist and Ms. Macela's world of Magic has that.
There's a battle brewing in the Magic community between the traditionalist and the modern practitioners: a battle over the "correct" way to cast spells.
One of those modern practitioners is theoretical mathematician Marcus Forscher who has created an equation that he believes will bring the casting of magic into the twenty-first century.
On the side of tradition there is botanist Gloriana Morgan, who believes that spell casting is an art. She believes that the art of spell casting is as individual as each caster who casts those spells. Gloriana fears the consequences of throwing out the old casting methods and forcing use of the new. So W2, The Witches & Warlocks Journal sets up a series of debates across the country.
Enter the soul mate phenomenon, an ancient compulsion that brings soul mates together which has more than a few persuasive techniques and powers to convince the selected couple they belong together. Marcus and Gloriana, the prospective soul mates in this case want nothing to do with each other and are horrified at the thought. To make matters even worse, there are some of the members of the opposing factions that have turned to violence. One member in particular, blames both Marcus and Gloriana for the whole mess, and now wants to destroy both of them.
The Magic will work for them…or against them. With these two powerful practitioners bent on having their own way, will it be a case of Your Magic Or Mine? or will they unite to survive?
Your Magic or Mine is the most engaging book in this series. The characters and the plot, with it's twists and turns does more than just interest the reader. It captures the reader. Marcus and Gloriana seemed to be polar opposites yet underneath it all they want and believe in the same things. Ms. Macela slowly builds them through all the mistrust and the dangerous turn the debates take into a willingness to deal with their feelings and the possibility they may be soul mates. I really have enjoyed the first three books, Your Magic or Mine?, The Oldest Kind of Magic, and Do You Believe in Magic. I can't wait to get my hands on Wild Magic, the fourth book in this series.
If you haven’t picked up this series yet, then I recommend that you head over to Amazon and order this great series. I promise you will not be disappointed.
