Thank you Allie and Novelspot for allowing me to chat with your readers this week about my writing and how I got started.
I’ve always been an avid reader, but it wasn’t until 2001 that I actually decided to try my hand at writing. Well, there was this one creative writing class in seventh grade when I penned a story about a little bug that lived inside a tulip, hunted by the deadly spider within the garden. Mr. Doodle, The Dingle Bug was selected with a host of others to be sent to the local children’s hospital. After that I never wrote again. Instead I focused more on school, cheerleading and, yes, boys.
Throughout the years my love for mystery, suspense and gothic grew. In 2001 I picked up some Iris Johansen and Kay Hooper books. They intrigued me so much that’s I wondered if I could write something as intriguing as these two women. How hard could it be anyway? I could solve the “who-dun-it” on CSI usually within the first five to fifteen minutes. I was a shoe-in.
So I did what every wannabe does. I sat down in front of my computer, fingertips on the keyboard, and began to write.
