Ever dream a dream that came true? Maybe you met a person that you had only dreamed of before. Our dreams have significance, often prophetic meaning, which is why Storm Masterson is troubled when his recent dream comes to life in the form of Nurse Rachel Dennison. What should he do with a contrary distant nurse who arrives to nurse his sister, Sunny? Vonnie Davis spins a complex tale of an obstacle laden romance in her debut novel, STORM’S INTERLUDE.
Rachel welcomed an opportunity to travel far from home and current problems, including a crazed ex-boyfriend who doesn’t seem to understand the concept of closure. There isn’t much comfort at home with the appearance of a domineering stepfather so soon after her father’s unexpected death. Far away from everything familiar, Rachel drives late into night only to encounter a naked cowboy in her headlights. Things are certainly different here than from home, but change is what she craves, what she needs.
Storm’s Native American heritage places a strong importance on dreams. He has enough to worry about with his twin going through chemo for a second time, and a fiancée pressuring him. Maybe she can feel his doubts. What does he know of happy family since his mother never bothered to stick around to raise the two of them? Could he do any better than his father?
Rachel and Storm strike sparks off each other from their initial meeting on the lonely dark road where he sported only a pair of boots and a cowboy hat. Rachel knows she doesn’t need any more domineering men in her life because she’s had plenty. The man has a fiancée which should make him off limits. Too bad, he doesn’t seem to realize this. Rachel swears to fight her attraction, and attend to her patient. Just when it looks like things might be reaching a plateau, her old beau enters the picture determined to cause trouble in a big way.
STORM’S INTERLUDE offers western action, humor, along with beautifully described settings. Secondary characters are strong and animated. A second story line between Sunny and Jackson makes the tale even more intriguing. The chemistry between Storm and Rachel is authentic. It starts on page one and sizzles all through the book. Ms. Davis also shows a deft hand in dealing with Native American customs.
Cowboy Fans, Romance Fans, and those who love an engaging read sprinkled with lots of smiles, some heart string tugs, plus moments of nail biting suspense, this is your book. I highly recommend STORM’S INTERLUDE by Vonnie Davis and published by Wild Rose Press.

Thank you for a lovely review
I'm thrilled you enjoyed my debut book. When a reviewer gets what a writer is trying to convey through his or her story, authors -- this author, especially -- just smile and smile. You've made my day. Thank you.
