Book 7 in the Ancient Blood series.
Kate Hill's Immaculate is the seventh Ellora's Cave release in her Ancient Blood series. Other books in this series are Darkness Therein, The Blood Doctor and Deep Red. As Immaculate is a re-release of a previously published book, you should see Kate's website for the correct order to read her Ancient Blood series. Kate is also known for her other critically acclaimed series: Knights of the Ruby Order, The Horsemen, and Blood and Soul.
After a year of disturbing flashbacks, Mara, the survivor of a horrible attack, is traveling through Europe doing research on the creature she thinks is responsible. While stopped in Spain, she meets Adam Lindsay who offers to help her write a book. She is very attracted to this not quite handsome man. However, is she ready to trust someone enough to get that close again?
Adam Lindsay, a quiet spoken caring man and a teacher of high school Latin, is also a man with his own secrets. He is one of those creatures that Mara fears so much--a vampire. Adam, having been born of vampire parents, was raised in secret to fulfill a prophecy. He has trained all his life to be an executioner, a man of violence. Adam secretly yearns a life different from his own and he wants Mara to be part of that life. Can he get Maya to trust him while confirming her fears that vampires do exist and he is one of them?
As they work out their future, destiny is fast rushing in on Adam. He and Mara begin to gather old friends, family, and enemies around them to fulfill the prophecy that has haunted Adam all his life.
Kate Hill's Immaculate is an intensely woven story full of love, anguish, and anger. So tightly woven is this story that you lose all track of time once you are immersed in it. So rich were the characters that I truly hated to see the end of the story. I cannot wait for the next book in the series titled God of the Grim. I highly recommend you get this book if you love vampire tales with a bite.
