BEDTIME TALES Wicked Pleasures and Dangerous Dreams sure turned up the heat for that little midnight read. The sexual fantasies were titillating and intriguing. Each short story within the compilation added its own distinctive flavor to the collection.

Houston started off with two scintillating tales of longing and submission to a partner's desires. It was her description of being taken over by reckless abandon by giving way to the naughtiest of desires that made her stories stand out. Whether it was a lesson in the art of love, French-style, or a lesson in how even spanking can arouse the senses; she hit the mark in the premise of her erotic romance stories.

However, though the stories were well written, it was typical of them to build up to a stimulating climax and then come to an abrupt end. It seemed that Houston exhausted all her characters' mental and physical states so much in the buildup of their lust that perhaps there wasn't enough of a back-story to talk about once they finished making love.

However, if there is something to be said about BEDTIME TALES Wicked Pleasures and Dangerous Dreams, it's that it sure does live up to its slightly satirical name. It's naughty but nice, mixing ordinary situations with a bit of danger, putting to words everyone's secret fantasies.
