Hillary Tennyson was a twenty-eight-year-old hematologist. She loved and was drawn to Las Vegas because of the nightlife, although she'd worked and studied in seclusion for the past five years. She discovered and couldn't understand a strange blood strand found in her. It then appeared in two other people's blood, raising more suspicions and questions.
The nightlife actually had a life all of its own. As Hillary was getting closer and closer to figuring out the mysteries presented to her, things began to heat up in all aspects of her humdrum life. A strange and brutal encounter when leaving work began to set things into motion. This was where she was helped, saved, and informally introduced to Christian Blackthorne.
He was a beautifully, sexy man who came from no place to rescue her. He was deliciously perfect-gorgeous with his sexy flowing hair, hard, muscle chiseled body, and well endowed manhood. He was a seclusionary artist by trade, vampire by curse. He embraced his destiny, his place, and accepted what he was. His brother Draigon and friend Garridon were extremely close and watched each other's backs.
Sinclair Drayloch had caused all the turmoil by submitting a blood sample to Hillary causing her to raise her interests and curiosity. Drayloch was young and unhappy with his status. He wanted to become human again and had hoped Hillary could help him find a cure. He was a part of the Renegades-vampires who wanted something different.
This caused much unrest within the vampire brood and they tried all they could to fix the problem he had started.
Eternal Flame is the first book in the Amethyst Inferno series. It sets the basis for future stories to come. Hillary was a lonely, young lady who was basically consumed by her work. She was onto something odd. Unbeknownst to her, this was the beginning of an interesting adventure. She and Christian hit it off immediately. Their chemistry is electric and the sex incredibly hot. Lynn Warren created deliciously, desirable, and believable characters. Anything goes and the nightlife is so abundant in Las Vegas she makes you believe that there really could be vampires out there. I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to seeing what happens to all of them next.
