Sinjin's knee deep in a find he'd been working on for years. He knew he was close to finding the tomb of the King of Pacal. Along came this young chit of a woman who called herself a colleague. She turned his world upside down; Tamara was a fantastic archaeologist though, for which Sinjin, as hard as he tried to, couldn't deny.

Sinjin's a beast and Tamara was the woman destined to tame him. Tamara was a head-strong woman who knew what she wanted and began to recognize Sinjin as the man with whom she could spend the rest of her life. Sinjin felt emotions he thought he'd never feel again, and Tamara was the reason. Could she love a man like him, he wondered? Would she be content to give up her life and live in the Mexican jungle, for months on end? There was also a mysterious outside force that wanted these two to be together; could it be the spirit of Pacal?

What an excellent book MAYAN NIGHTS turned out to be, filled with intrigue, love and some surprising twists and turns. Ms. MacFarland continued to delight me with her story telling abilities as I got further into MAYAN NIGHTS. Ms. Farland delves very deep into Sinjin's character and why he is the way he is when Tam meets him and as a result, we get a very good view of the male psyche. Ms. MacFarland delights us with wonderful secondary characters that weren't just backdrop, but helped to make MAYAN NIGHTS an excellent read for this reviewer. MAYAN NIGHTS kept me up reading way past midnight, as I couldn't put it down. A hot jungle, with a steamy couple, combined with some of the best written erotic love scenes I've had the privilege of reading had me running to the freezer for some ice cubes. It bowled me over to learn that MAYAN NIGHTS is Ms. MacFarland's first book! I am now adding her to my auto buy list.
