Review:

Looking for something a little different? How about a serial like those of days of old? One where the story ends with a cliffhanger of sorts and then picks up right where it left off the last time? Interested . . . read on!

In this latest installment Astrid is growing ever closer to Duncan. He relates the tale of his ancestor, Madelaine, leading Astrid to believe in a connection to her visions/trips with the past. While cleaning at Antiquities, Astrid uncovers a pair of golden viking medallions which upon contact lead her falling into the past and living the life of another. Starr is the daughter of the village leader about to be forced into a marriage which she finds repulsive.

When an accident literally sends her into the arms of Ragnar the viking, there begins a love affair which is destined to end in disaster--for Ragnar is the half brother of her betrothed and a match with him will never be allowed.

This tale, Britain, is number 5 of this fascinating series. I have read all the stories so far and admit upfront--I am hooked! Each tale leaves me panting for the next glimpse into the past life of Astrid, set in some far ago exotic locale. Ms Walter's never fails to deliver whether it be Astrid and Duncan 'slowly building up to an inferno' love affair, or the doomed love affairs of her past incarnations. Every book in this series is a contemporary love story with mystery and intrigue. But they are also paranormal-reincarnation tales which sweep you straight into history and tales filled with love and danger. Two for the price of one . . . who can resist that? Short and sweet, these tales are easy to devour and will leave you with a craving for more!
