A Bid for Love

Ever find yourself attracted to a particularly scrumptious man? Not that unusual in itself, but you don’t often act on your attraction. What if you did and things didn’t work out as in your well-rehearsed fantasy? Instead, you’d find yourself avoiding the same delightful man that before you took such pleasure in greeting every day. Sound familiar? Maybe you have a great deal in common with Nico, the heroine in Savannah Chase’s newest novel, Bid For Love.

Nico thinks of herself as a modern gal, perhaps a little on the boring side. Maybe that’s why her friends’ constant badgering about Jeff is starting to get on her nerves. Audrey even has the nerve to hint she’ll take the yummy Jeff if Nico never plans to make a move on him. Great---all she needs is man-hungry Audrey gobbling the source of her fantasies. If only she could be more adventurous and take a chance. Besides her hidden tattoo, the most excitement in her life at this point is agreeing to attend the Valentine’s Day Bachelor Auction. She is unsure why she is attending because none of those hot guys would want to go out with her.

Adam & Evil

What’s an intelligent, educated woman to do when her rich and powerful father insists that she marry someone completely repulsive to her? Author Jaid Black gives us her premise on this scenario with Adam & Evil, one of the White Hot Holiday reads from Ellora’s Cave.

Julia Cameron is ready to marry, but she isn’t interested in the shrewd, bossy man her equally bossy father has chosen for her. Samuel Ian Adam knows his employer wants him to court his daughter but isn’t interested in the overtly business-like woman so different than the submissive type that usually turns him on. But during the Christmas season, Samuel ends up obliged to escort Julia home for the holidays. Their plane crashes and the pair find themselves stranded on a deserted island. Alone together, Julia and Sam discover sensuous passions brew and foment just beneath the surface of their otherwise clashing personalities.

Lorna's Gigolo

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Happy Birthday to me. Another year older and I'm not at all happy about it. Have you ever felt that way? Have you ever wanted to be just left alone? To age in private? Ms. Lowery couldn't let that happen to Lorna Adams. Not when Lorna has friends with a fresh new idea for a birthday gift. His name is Ramon and he is Lorna's Gigolo.

Lorna meant for her birthday to pass by silently as she spent the night in the privacy of her own home. Her co-workers decided that that just couldn't happen. They spring into action, take up a collection, jump on the Internet, and find lonely Lorna the perfect gift. His name is Ramon and he's probably the best looking gift Lorna has ever received.

Primitive Passion

We all hear the horror stories of tourists being robbed in foreign countries. Of women being held at knife- or gun- point and being divested of cash, jewelry, and, sometimes, their self worth. Ms. Lanel uses that as her opening for Primitive Passion.

Sylvia Radcliff is a born and bred city girl. She likes the people, her job, and best of all, she likes the anonymity of living surrounded by other people. She likes her men the way she likes her city: smooth, fast talking, and beating feet by the second date. Why? Because she sees herself a prim and proper lady… who fantasizes about things that no prim and proper woman would even consider, much less dream of.

Naughty & Spice

Well, it’s that time of year and Ellora’s Cave has presented their new line up of “Christmas Quickies”. This year’s theme is Wild Winter and they are certainly wild. As always the “quickies” are just that: quick, easy reads with something for everyone. Both new authors and some of the old favorites will be adding to this year’s line up. Since Titania Ladley is one of my favorite authors, of course I had to get her contribution Naughty & Spice.

After Hours

When Kensington decided to start their Aphrodisia line of books for their hotter, sexier stories, everyone was talking about which authors Kensington would pick to open their new line. For me, I try never to miss a Jodi Lynn Copeland story. After experiencing Jodi’s writing through her ebooks, I was looking forward to her debut with a New York publisher only to find that she was going to be one of opening authors for Kensington. That was truly a thrill.

Animal Attraction

Ever heard of animal attraction or better yet, felt it? The mindless drive to mate with another person? Forget social niceties; there are only the two of you. If you want to relive the wild, untamed feeling again or experience it for the first time, check out Animal Attraction, an exciting anthology penned by Jazz Raven, Brit Blaise, and Sandy Lynn.

In Night of the Cat, Dr. Laura Santiago is the new kid at Northwestern Hospital. After braving the wilds of the jungle, she is determined to show a few conceited doctors that she is extremely competent. The curvaceous doctor has a few minor issues—a tendency to black out and wake up naked in the strangest places. Add to that she is stronger than she’s ever been and she hasn’t been working out. Sexy Detective Jared Dalton arrives to unravel the mystery of her midnight jaunts, after Laura wakes up in the tiger enclosure at the local zoo. Despite his handsome exterior, Laura knows there is more to Detective Dalton than a pretty face. The question is can she find out before she wakes up somewhere even more dangerous?

Chaining His Heart

BDSM literature talks about the "brat." In the culture of BDSM, the brat is someone who is bitchy in order to provoke punishment. Personally, I have trouble getting my mind around that definition. I mean, are brats deliberately bratty to provoke punishment? I know plenty of people who are just plain bitchy (or bratty)--and they seem to be that way just because they are chronically catty or spiteful or simply spoiled rotten. According to the "brat" phenomenon, these bitchy people are carrying around submissive personalities which they all emphatically deny. Are these obnoxious, bitchy, bratty people all submissives at heart? How could a Dom recognize the difference between a submissive brat and an ordinary"run-of-the-mill-garden-variety-should-have-been-spanked-when-they-were-kids" type brat? Or are they the same thing? I mean, aren't there some Doms out there who are just ASKING to be Dommed themselves?

Saint Jillian's Rebel

Saint Jillian’s Rebel is my first Eve Jameson read, though Ms Jameson does have a few other books currently available. I liked it enough so as to want to watch out for more from Ms Jameson and will certainly be checking out the books she has published so far. This novella is part of the Fun In The Sun series, a set of delightful novellas published this summer by numerous authors. I have read a few thus far, and intend to read the rest!

Knockout

I have been meaning to get my hands on a Murray tale for quite some time now, but time has flown by so quickly it has left me wondering how I could have allowed so much time to elapse without following through on my intentions. No matter, for I have finally nabbed a Murray tale with both hands and am extremely happy that I did. Knockout is a sensual, charming tale about a woman going after the man she wants, to heck with any obstacles. This story has left me feeling I should not allow much time to elapse before getting my hands on more of Murray's works.

If You Dare

Halloween eve. An invitation. A black satin ribbon. A silent domination. A clandestine interlude bordering between myth and magic. An encounter that starts in a ballroom and continues on the nights of a full moon, with nothing in between. Is this a light love affair? Or is it like the gilded collar--a gift that locks, leaving no escape? If You Dare dares you to take a step out of bounds, almost into a dream.

The Big O

Though my ex once gave me am unofficial tour of the USS Forrestal, I myself have never been on an official cruise, enlisted, unenlisted, free or paid, competitive, commercial, freelance or imaginary. The closest I've ever come to a cruise is The Movies: the occasional "Love Boat" rerun, Speed II: Cruise Control, Titanic, Boat Trip, Out to Sea and The Poseidon Adventure--none of which inspired me to seek out the real thing. Not even stories of friends and relatives who've tripped the seabound light fantastic--admittedly the most exciting of which was about unlimited buffet tables--made me want the experience.

Unmasking Kelly

Just imagine working side by side with someone for a year--someone who is your ultimate fantasy, but someone you can't be with just because he's you're boss. No doubt there are a lot of "seduce the boss" secret fantasies walking around behind downcast eyes, in restaurants and offices and businesses. Lucky Kelly--I never had a boss as toothsome as hers to fantasize over...

And Kelly is lucky because she's got a friend whose done a makeover on her; she's lucky there's a masquerade where she can take her made-over self to and have the opportunity of a lifetime: a night with Liam. Kelly is a very sympathetic character--a super tall super size sixteen with a damaged self-esteem. Kelly is a big beautiful woman who does not dare to see herself as sexy.

My Carina

Ah, there's nothing like a tall dark stranger. Once, on a fountain tour, I was stalked over the Ponte Vecchio and thru the streets of Florence by a dirty old man in a little red car the size of a grocery basket. He wasn't tall and dark (or at least, if he was, I didn't know about it. He did nothing for my fantasies, but I did learn some hard truths about Italian men. (Yes, they like to pinch.)

Eight Is Never Enough

Eight Is Never Enough is a collaboration between Trixie Stilletto and TD McKinney that flows so smoothly you cannot tell there has been more than one person involved in its creation. Whilst I have never read TD McKinney before, I have read Trixie Stilletto and have enjoyed her stories. The storyline grabbed my attention and kept it. This is a somewhat short erotic contemporary romance that is just the thing for those always on the go. Thoroughly enjoyable, if not totally consuming, this is one that is easy to recommend.
